Earning Potential

The financial gains you might expect

Over 77% of Australian consumer loans are now written through brokers, and MFAA industry data puts average gross annual broker earnings at $181,199 — more than double the median full-time salary. Here's how the numbers build.

🚗

Finance Broking earnings

Finance broking pays upfront on every settlement — lender commission plus a broker origination fee — and deals settle in days, not months, so volume compounds fast.

Mortgage Broking earnings

A glance at the potential commissions a mortgage broker might earn per transaction — an upfront payment plus monthly trail for the life of the loan.

Loan sizeCommission (.65%)Monthly trail (.15%)
$500,000$2,600$50
$600,000$3,120$60
$750,000$3,900$75
$1,000,000$5,200$100

These figures serve as a guide and should not be seen as guaranteed earnings; they assume an average brokerage rate of 80% and do not account for operational costs or referral fees. On the PLUS membership you keep 100% of upfront and trail. Source: MFAA Industry Intelligence Service Report (average gross annual earnings $181,199).

Fee Questions

The fine print, minus the fine print

What does "includes CRN, CRM and PI" actually mean?
Three costs most brokers pay separately are bundled into every membership: your Credit Representative authorisation (CRN) under Australian Credit Licence 547719, the Oxcel CRM and broker platform, and professional indemnity insurance cover. One monthly fee, no surprise add-ons.
Which plan keeps 100% of commission?
Mortgage + Asset Broking PLUS ($990/month excl. GST) pays 100% of the upfront commissions and trail you generate — no split. On the $399 + GST Asset Finance Broking plan you earn competitive commissions per your membership schedule; ask for a detailed proposal at rm@oxcel.com.au to see which leaves more in your pocket at your volume.
Are there joining or exit fees, or lock-in contracts?
No joining fees, no exit fees, no lock-ins. Change plans or leave with 30 days' written notice, subject to your membership agreement — and your trail book goes with you.
Is the 2-year mentoring really complimentary?
Yes — for new-to-industry members, the 2-year structured mentorship and the 2-year compliance training curriculum are included at no additional cost on every membership. It also satisfies the MFAA/FBAA mentoring requirement for new brokers.
How are commissions disbursed?
Through our automated, technology-based disbursement engine: lender remittance is reconciled line-by-line, your share is calculated against your membership schedule and paid in the weekly run — typically within 48 hours of reconciled remittance. No spreadsheets, no manual errors, full statement visibility.
Can I switch plans later, and are rates subject to change?
Yes — upgrade or change streams from the next calendar month. Pricing may change with notice, but never mid-agreement without the notice period in your membership terms.
Are the earnings figures on this page guaranteed?
No. All figures are illustrative examples or industry averages (MFAA Industry Intelligence Service Report). Actual income depends on volume, lender and product mix, market conditions and effort, and is reduced by fees, GST, clawbacks and business costs.
Do The Maths

One extra settlement usually covers your plan for months.
